Located at 387 Manchester Street, McLean's Mansion is among the largest timber residences ever built in New Zealand. Completed in 1900 for Canterbury runholder Allan McLean, the 53 room house is listed by Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga as a Category 1 historic place.
The site sits at the northern edge of the Christchurch central city, close to Cranmer Square, the Avon River and the Victoria Street precinct.
Citadel is undertaking a staged structural and heritage restoration of the building, returning it to active use after more than a decade unoccupied. Further detail will be released as the project progresses.
